Longtime Fort Crook dealership now Corwin Toyota of Bellevue
The all new Corwin Toyota of Bellevue got a warm welcome to the Omaha Metro region from the Bellevue Leader newspaper!
Bellevue Toyota Scion is under new ownership after local owner Jim Duffack, who spent 50 years in the automotive business and 43 years at Bellevue Toyota, sold the business so he could retire.
The store, now Corwin Toyota of Bellevue, was sold to Corwin Automotive Group, based in Fargo, North Dakota, on June 1.
“It’s a dealership we’ve been aware of for a number of years,” Corwin executive Keith McDougall said. “Mr. Duffack decided to sell so he could retire, so it was the perfect opportunity.”
Duffack’s son, Jim Duffack Jr., along with 55 other employees, have stayed on under the new ownership. Corwin is finishing up a light remodeling at its location at 608 Fort Crook Road N. and has hired about 15 new sales staff and aims to hire office personnel and service staff by the end of the year.
Drew Corwin will take over as the general manager and owner-operator of the dealership with plans on building a new facility in Bellevue. While no plans have been finalized, a 60,000-square-foot facility will occupy approximately 10 acres of land and exceed $10 million.
McDougall said the new dealership will not be too far away from the current location, which could eventually be converted into a used car lot after the new facility is established.
